At Huawei’s IFA keynote today, the company laid out their vision for the next decade as well as their commitment to European customers and their privacy. Perhaps most surprisingly, they revealed plans to open a flagship retail store in the UK before the end of the year. This flagship store will undoubtedly be the best place for UK consumers to get hands on with the full range of Huawei devices and alongside their stunning MateBook, I’m sure a lot of UK customers will be able to get their first in hand experience with the Huawei Mate XS foldable phone.
While we haven’t been lucky enough to get a Mate XS ourselves for any long term testing, we do consider it to be the best looking phone of 2020 thanks to it’s unique take on the folding smart phone form factor. The Huawei Mate XS is certainly the most futuristic looking device available in the UK at the moment, whether or not the software, camera and battery life are able to live up to it’s jaw dropping exterior is something that we’re still not able to answer unfortunately.
You can watch the full IFA keynote below or skip ahead to the 16 minute mark in order to see the retail store announcement. Overall, while there was no new hardware announcements, it’s great to see a tech giant like Huawei declare their long term commitment to customers in the UK and across Europe.
