Google have revealed their 2 new flagship smartphones for 2021, the Pixel 6 and it’s bigger brother, the Pixel 6 Pro. Boasting a beautiful new design that fits perfectly with the new ‘Material You’ UI that will debut alongside Android 12 later this year. The Pixel 6 will also be the first Google phone to use their brand new custom silicon, Tensor.
The new Tensor chip promises to bring AI and Machine Learning to the next level and Google will be hoping their new chip will help close the gap on Apples M1 chip which released to rave reviews last year and is now included in the latest iPad Pro. Google Assistant is already the most advanced personal assistant, so it will be interesting to see if Tensor is able to improve this by bring many more requests and actions on device as well as speeding up other AI related tasks like image processing.
Google has also confirmed that the new Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will feature brand new camera systems along with wireless charging, so there’s no lack of new tech in this new phone.
Both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are due to release later this year, but Google have not confirmed an actual release date just yet beyond Autumn. You can read the full Google blog post here and sign up for further updates online at the Google Store.
